2005-2006 STUDY
GROUP
DOUBLEWEAVE
If you haven't yet selected a project for the Doubleweave study group, it's not too late to participate. We will be discussing the study group in more detail at the September 10th meeting, but here are the general rules:
- Select a first and second choice from the six projects described below. At least two people will be weaving each project.
- Notify Eunice Smith, the study group leader, of your choice. (Note that some members already chose a project at the May meeting, so your first choice may not be available.)
Let Eunice know: the type of loom you'll be using (4 or 8 shaft; table or floor model), the width of your loom, and the dentage of your reed.
- Warp a portable loom according to the instructions provided for the project. (Eunice will have threading instructions for projects 3 through 6 at the Scottish Festival on July 16th.) The warp should be approximately 3 yards long.
- Weave two samples of your project on your loom prior to the October 8th meeting. (If you don't have time before the meeting, you can complete your samples later). One of these samples is for you and the other is for the Guild notebook.
- Bring your threaded loom to the October 8th meeting.
We will weave in a "round robin" fashion at the October meeting, so by the end of the day you should have woven 5 items.
